YAMPAL Saxophon Solo
The very special feature of the Saxphonist YAMPAL is his versatility, with which he can perform impressively on big events (like the international Sailing Event Kieler Woche, Cultural Festival-Beijing, Reggae Festival-Göteborg, Tennis-Open in Hamburg Rothenbaum, and the prestigeous Vienna Opera-Ball) as well as subdued in cosy Top-Bars in Firstclass Hotels (such as Grand Hotel Vienna, Raffles Beijing Hotel, Dorint Sofitel and many others). His wide range of music includes Reggae, Salsa, Ska for stage performances and Jazz, Calypso, Latin-ballads for the more relaxed atmosphere in Bars.
YAMPAL - also known as Thomas Nennstiel was born in Essen, Germany. After having studied at the Vienna Universitiy for Music and at the Folkwangcollege in Essen, where he earned his state-examen, he went on for private studies with Jerry Bergonzi in Boston, USA and with Werner Pöhlert in Bensheim, Germany. He then started his own successful music-career, which took him throughout Europe and to China.
